The Blue Plaque TrailWaterford Civic Trust has installed Blue Plaques in the City to commemorate a link between a particular location and a famous person or event. There are almost 40 blue plaques in the City, many located in easy walking distance in the City Centre and highlighted on our map. One of the famous people commemorated is Raymond Chandler, creator of the fictional character Philip Marlowe, whose mother was born in Waterford City and who returned with her young son to Waterford for a number of years and for summer holidays.
