DescriptionDaytripper returns to Bolton Street on the weekend of 4th to 6th July with the following 3 international stars: FRIday 4th JULY KAISER CHIEFS With a reputation as one of the best live acts the UK has ever produced and a hatful of chart smashes (Ruby, I Predict A Riot, Oh My God, Never Miss A Beat, The Angry Mob, Everyday I Love You Less And Less), Kaiser Chiefs make their first visit to the South East for an exclusive Irish appearance in summer 2014. They release their 5th album "Education, Education, Education & War" at the end of this month at a time when their profile has never been higher due to the success of lead singer Ricky Wilson as a coach on The Voice UK. SATurday 5th JULY DAVID GRAY White Ladder by David Gray has sold more copies in Ireland than any other album in chart history. With 12 million album sales worldwide, 2 Ivor Novellos (the most prestigious songwriting awards of them all), a Q award, two Brit nominations, a Grammy nomination and a BAFTA nomination, David has enjoyed enormous global success after first getting acclaim from Irish audiences. He releases his 10th album later this year and returns to Waterford for the first time since playing The Forum on his first Irish Tour almost 20 years ago. Sunday 6th JULY PALOMA FAITH "Can"t Rely On You" co-written with man of the moment Pharrell Williams became Paloma Faith"s first Top 10 single in the UK charts last week and in Ireland it hit the Top 5. Her 3rd album "A Perfect Contradiction" follows this week and the reviews for this upbeat collection of pop, soul and R & B have been unanimously positive. Paloma has built a fanatical fanbase due to her unique retro/eccentric style and personality. Her live performances have always been show stealers featuring powerful torch songs like "New York" and "Picking Up The Pieces". Daytripper 2014 will once again feature a great support line up of international, national and local acts over 2 stages and 3 days. Event founders Mick O"Keeffe and Ciaran O"Neill are also delighted to welcome 2 well known Waterford business men Clem Jacob and Paul Jackman to the Daytripper team and their input will result in further improvements to on-site facilities.
